Improved oscilloscope
Pico Technology - Booth: 6021

Building on the success of the PicoScope 4000 series of high-resolution oscilloscopes, Pico Technology will this year present the improved 4444 model, which now allows high-resolution measurements of differential voltage waveforms. The PicoScope 4444 features four true differential input channels and measurement accessories for low- and high-voltage applications. The new model addresses the difficulties in acquiring accurate voltage waveform measurements on circuit elements that are not ground-referenced, as this setup normally carries the risk of short circuits that can damage both the device being tested and the testing equipment.

The PicoScope 4444 promises to give electrical engineers the freedom to make differential voltage measurements in the presence of common-mode signals. The new instrument has 14-bit resolution on four channels and 256 megasamples of capture memory, so it is ideal for the precise analysis of complex waveforms. The PicoScope 4444 also features a choice of 1:1 low-voltage and 25:1 1000V CAT III probes. Furthermore, the scope has an intelligent probe interface that, in addition to delivering the differential signal to be measured, can provide power for active probes such as Hall effect DC/AC, and Rogowski coil-type active current probes. The scope detects when a compatible probe is connected and sets the corresponding units and vertical settings in the PicoScope 6 software.
